School officials have agreed to update the Stewartville School District's internal financial controls. The School Board, at its regular business meeting last week, approved a new policy governing the district's accounting policies and procedures. Belinda Selfors, superintendent, told the School Board at a recent meeting that the district's former policy was outdated. "This is a review of all the internal controls within the organization," she said. "We're looking to standardize our operating procedures with the internal controls." The School Board's approval, however, was granted with the understanding that administrators will submit additional documents clarifying the district's policy governing the operation of concession stands at sports events...
