Sheriff Kevin Torgerson and other members of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office will host a "community drug awareness and trends" meeting at the Stewartville High School Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The agenda for the evening will include: welcome. Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) presentation. Internet safety. current drug trends. drug effects and awareness. what to look for, and lessons on drug lingo. how drug use affects family members. a question and answer session with a panel. "Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions about today's community (and how it is) affected by drugs," says a news release from the Sheriff's Office. The session is for adults only. The content will not be filtered for young ears, the news release says.
