Aleksander Kosmala and Lydia Fryer will be the featured speakers at the annual Memorial Day ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday, May 28. Memorial Day ceremonies will begin with the annual parade, scheduled to begin near the Griffin-Gray Funeral Home on Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m. The Stewartville High School Band, representatives of local veterans organizations, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are expected to march in the parade. The short parade will end at Woodlawn Cemetery, where Jeremiah Oeltjen, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, is scheduled to lead the audience in the opening prayer. Following the service at Woodlawn Cemetery, brief ceremonies will be held at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery and at cemeteries at Pleasant Grove and High Forest. A brief ceremony will also be held at the High Forest bridge, where a wreath will be dropped into the Root River in memory of U.S. servicemen and women lost at sea...
