Meeting with the City Council for a second time since late June, representatives of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office insisted last week the city of Stewartville needs two more deputies to patrol its streets beginning in 2022.
Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson, a Stewartville resident, said the County's proposal to add the two new deputies isn't a new idea.
"We've been talking about this for the last six years, since I took office," he said.
