A member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Amanda Meyer had a vision.
In her mind, she envisioned the congregation growing in faith by growing its own food and sharing the harvest with others.
She and her husband, Jamie, knew the church had an empty lot, a former playground, where there was plenty of dirt for a garden.
"We had this large, beautiful flat land that would work perfectly to place the church garden," she said. "My initial thought for the garden was to have a project for our younger members to be involved with and to grow their Christian faith by the act of giving and helping others."
This past spring, the congregation met at the church's property to plant the garden...
