The Minnesota Department of Transportation is working to reduce fatalities for walkers and improve safety for all travelers.
MnDOT's safety campaign, "Let's Move Safely Together," highlights safety tips that remind people to use extra caution when driving and walking.
As of late July, 24 pedestrians had been killed on Minnesota roads and more than 200 have lost their lives in vehicle crashes in 2021.
"One life lost on our roadways is too many," said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, MnDOT commissioner. "When we work as a team and watch out for each other, we can save lives and make progress Toward Zero Deaths."
Kelliher urges drivers to slow down and stop for people crossing the road, and walkers to stay alert and look all ways before crossing...
