Stewartville firefighters were called to a fire in an apartment at the Cottages at the 1800 block of Maple Street Northeast last week.
Lt. Steve Denny said 14 firefighters responded in two fire engines and an aerial truck on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 3:43 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered the apartment filled with heavy smoke from clothes burning in a dryer...
