No. 1 singles player Tom Chopp showcased the Stewartville boys tennis team last week, winning his first two matches of the season, the first a 6-0, 6-3 straight-set win over his Schaeffer Academy foe. The Tiger team lost 5-2 hosting the Lions on April 23 at home. Chopp then recorded a 6-0, 6-1 straight-set sweep over his Winona Cotter opponent. Stewie lost 5-2 to the Ramblers on the road, April 24. "In both matches Tom was able to solidify wins at number one singles," Tiger coach Kelly Manley complimented. "His forehand has become a serious weapon as he develops into an all-around player." Daniel McCollough earned his first win of the season against his Schaeffer Academy opponent while Justin Beach and Josiah Van Moer combined to get Stewie's first doubles win of the season, winning a tiebreaker against the No. 3 Cotter doubles team...
