Emil was employed at the Stewartville Elevator for 37 years until his retirement. Mr. Janssen died on Sept. 7, 2012. Frances moved to the Stewartvilla Aparataments in 2015.
She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she served with its Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Friendship Club, the Evening Guild and the Bible study group. She was a member of the Stewartville American Legion Auxillary Unit 164 and the Ivan Stringer Post VFW Auxiliary. Like Emil, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping up north with family and friends and feeding the birds in their yard. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. Frances loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Frances is survived by her daughter and son, Sandra (Ron) Geist of Stewartville, and Gary (Pam) of Faribault; six grandchildren, Terri (Ron) Giese, Tammy (Frank) Huntley, Amy Janssen, Breyenne (Owen) Schunk, Christopher (Dufi) Geist and Nick Janssen; five great-grandchildren, Lee, Alicia, Sophia, Vivienne and Dylan; five great-great- grandchildren, Dominik and Akira, Nolan, Everett and Daya; one sister, Caroline Rinn of Rochester and nieces and nephews.
