The funeral service for Harold O. Bredesen was held today (Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016) at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Stewartville with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
Mr. Bredesen, 56, of Racine, died in a motor vehicle accident on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 on Minnesota State Highway 63 just north of his home in Racine.
Harold Ole Bredesen was born May 17, 1959 in Rochester to Arthur and Darlene (Kath) Bredesen. He grew up in and around Stewartville, and attended Stewartville Schools.
Harold was married on Oct. 13, 1979 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Stewartville to Mary A. Christie. Following their marriage the couple built a wonderful and creative life in their 36 years of marriage and were blessed with 11 children while living in Stewartville, rural Rochester and for many years in Racine. Harold had a great sense of humor and a distinctive smile. He enjoyed talking to many people from all over the world while working at the Rochester International Airport for the past 30 plus years. Mary has been an employee at Target South in Rochester since it opened over eight years ago. Harold loved spending time with his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren; four wheeling, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, planting flowers, taking last minute road trips, even playing with toy tractors and dolls, or just sitting and enjoying a good swing outside. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls and classic tractor shows. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and was a member of the Root River Antique Historical Power Association.
He is survived by his wife Mary; five sons and six daughters, Christopher (Tanya) Bredesen of Stewartville, Nathen (Racheal Rasmussen) Bredesen of Hayfield, Katie (Jared) Steiger of Hayfield, LeAnn (Aaron) Tebay of Hayfield, Bryan (Andrea) Bredesen of Stewartville, David Bredesen (Hannah LeBarron) of rural Racine, Shaleen (Konrad) Waugh of Grand Meadow, Tiffany Bredesen (Jon Defoe) of Stewartville, Rabecca Bredesen of Stewartville, and Janae and Allen Bredesen at home in Racine; 18 grandchildren, Olivia and Carissa Bredesen, Cole, Kody, Layla, and Reghan Rasmussen, Parker, Paisley, and Hazel Bredesen, Alex and Paige Steiger, Macey Tebay, Matthew, Wyatt, and Emily Bredesen, Mallory Bredesen, and Gabriel and Jackson Waugh; two sisters and three brothers, Gail (Randy) Peck of Stewartville, Charlie (Alicia) Bredesen of Stewartville, Phillip (Cheryl) Bredesen of Kimberly, Idaho, Craig (Diane) Bredesen of Stewartville, and Ann (Ray) Gallie of Pine Island.
He was preeeded in death by his parents.
