A man finds a USB drive on a train with “Free to copy, then share” written on it: what he discovers next is heartwarming

On a train, a man found a rather intriguing USB stick with the words “free to copy and pass on” written on it. Naturally, he couldn’t resist finding out what was on it…When you take public transport, it’s not uncommon to find forgotten or abandoned objects, but some can be surprising… This is particularly true of the discovery shared by BagarDoge on Reddit.

While on a train, this man got hold of a USB stick. It could have been a rather banal story if it hadn’t said on it: “free to copy and pass on”. An intriguing message that makes you want to see what’s on it!

The man in question shared this anecdote on Reddit and asked the Internet for their opinion on what might be on the stick. It was a post that caused quite a stir!

Life This TikToker buys a used van and realizes it has a hidden surveillance device.

Speculation has been rife, with some speculating that it could be someone’s mixtape, or music playlist, while others imagined the worst and wondered if it could be a USB Killer – a USB stick that screws up your computer in a matter of seconds without you being able to do anything about it. Another Internet user wondered whether it was a marketing gimmick to promote an article or an artist.

However, the majority feared that it was simply a virus. It has to be said that there is a frightening amount of malicious software out there, and there was a good chance that this mysterious USB key contained some. That’s why, as a general rule, it’s best to avoid inserting abandoned USB sticks into your PC.

But what was on the USB stick?

Despite the risks this key could represent for a PC, BagarDoge couldn’t resist discovering what was inside. He once again shared his discovery on Reddit, although in the end he was rather disappointed by the contents…

Let’s end the suspense; the contents of the USB stick consist mainly of religious messages, particularly in the form of videos often on the theme of miracles. The contents are divided into two folders:

  • A History folder containing a modern translated audio version of the Bible (including the Old and New Testaments) and a “Read Me” file.
  • A video folder: There are four sub-folders, each named with a year, containing various clips with titles such as “100 miracles in 100 days” or “The joy of healing”.

In short, nothing too juicy… To view the contents of the USB stick, the web user used an old Windows Phone, an older mobile operating system developed by Microsoft.
