Robert Hruska received a special honor at the Stewartville American Legion Post 164 on Saturday evening, Jan. 25.
With about 85 guests looking on, Hruska accepted the Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Volunteer of the Year Award for 2019.
Mike Rainey, outgoing Chamber president, speaking at the Chamber's annual banquet, mentioned Hruska's continuing work for the Chamber, which has included serving two terms as the organization's president and as the annual chairman of the Chamber's Summerfest Arts in the Park event for several consecutive years.
"Robert has provided outstanding participation and leadership in Chamber activities," Rainey said. "He always lends a helping hand, and has worn many hats. In the five years I've been involved in the Chamber, this gentleman has never wavered..."
