Across Stewartville, colorful paper hearts on residents' doors and windows tell the story of togetherness.
With many people sheltering in place to limit the spread of the coronavirus, others are walking, cycling and driving around town. When they do, they see the hearts on full display.
Alyssa Hyke and her daughter Zoey, a third grader at Bear Cave Intermediate School, worked together to make the yellow, green, and multicolored hearts displayed on the front glass door and window of their house. Zoey's younger sister Charli, 2, also helped.
The hearts help brighten people's day, Zoey said.
"It was fun hanging them up and coloring them," she said. "I think it makes people happy, because they're stuck in the house and don't have much to do, so they can look at the hearts."
Alyssa said she and Zoey got the idea from the Internet...
