With fond memories of helping many children locally and around the world, the Stewartville Kiwanis Club is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Mary Brouillard, a charter member, and Janice Hagen, who has been with the club 17 years, have enjoyed their association with Kiwanis.
"The friendships formed have been very special over the years," Brouillard said. "We have very good camaraderie with the club."
Through the years, the small club has met either at Sammy's or Tarsilla's three times a month on Tuesdays at 7 a.m.
"We have fun when we get together," Brouillard said. "We're in the schools serving the kids any way we can. It has been fun to watch the Key clubs and the Builders clubs with their projects, and sharing with members from other Kiwanis clubs around the area."
A job for everyone:
For many years, Hagen worked as an administrative assistant at Stewartville High School. After her retirement, she looked for a way to continue to contribute to the community, especially in the schools. She found her calling with the Kiwanis Club...
