Dr. Tom Bro started his dental practice in Stewartville with his father, Dr. B.F. Bro, in February 1975. He says he has mixed emotions about retirement. “I’m really going to miss the contact with people,” he said. “But I am looking forward to more family time.”
Seated in an upstairs meeting room at his office on Main Street, Dr. Tom Bro reflected on his 45+ years as a Stewartville dentist. "I've enjoyed the relationships with my patients, and the friends I've made," he said. "They're the best group of patients I could have asked for." Pondering his pending retirement, he said it will come with mixed emotions. "I'm really going to miss the contact with people," he said. "But I am looking forward to more family time. We have seven grandchildren with one more coming." He said he's also anticipating working with wood, something he loves so much he built his own cabin between Webster and Spooner in northwestern Wisconsin. He'll enjoy tending to the cabin, he said, saying that the work on a cabin is never really finished. "I'm an avid woodworker," he said. "One summer I worked for Glenn Reichel as a builder.
