Celebrating Christmas and Valentine's Day, Jen Schurmeier used her skills as an artist to beautify Stewartville's downtown storefronts.
Thankful for her efforts, the Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce has named Schurmeier its Volunteer of the Year for 2020.
Jared Johnson of Anytime Fitness, the Chamber's new president for 2021, presented the honor as Schurmeier was decorating windows at C&M Screen Printing in downtown Stewartville.
"The Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce wanted to recognize you for all the beautiful decorations for Christmas, and now for Valentine's Day again," Johnson said.
Megan Romens, a Chamber director for 2020, speaking on the Chamber's website, congratulated Schurmeier for the honor. In the video, Romens mentioned Schurmeier has volunteered to help the Chamber with its Summerfest and Winterfest celebrations...
