Kerin Marek, a master gardener and certified landscaper, recently purchased the Second Street Southwest home previously owned by Calvin and Clarice Wolf, who lived in the house from 1956 until 2019 and raised five children there. Marek updated the landscaping around the house, beautifying the area with hostas, plenty of annuals and a mix of sunny perennials and shrubs. She also completed considerable work on the inside of the house, taking down a wall between the bathroom and bedroom and sweeping, cleaning and painting the basement. With her dog, Murphy, a Havanese, she poses with landscaping.

Living in St. Paul in late 2020, Kerin Marek hoped to move back to the Rochester area when she discovered a Stewartville home for sale at an online site.
The house, built in 1915, had been the home of Calvin and Clarice Wolf and their five children. The Wolfs owned the home from 1956 until 2019. Before the Wolf family moved in, there had been only one other owner, from 1915 to 1956.
"I saw the house online the second week of October of 2020," Marek said. "I moved here Nov. 24."
Marek, a master gardener and certified landscaper, enjoys maintenance work and updating the landscapes of existing homes. After moving into the former Wolf residence, she went to work sprucing up the home she now called her own...
