Seated among the guests at Larry Gray's funeral, Cheryl Roeder was overwhelmed with sadness.
"It was heartbreaking, even though he was 96," Roeder said. "It's one of those things where you say, 'He should always be there, because he always has been.' "
Hundreds of people attended the funeral, held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Saturday, Sept. 25. They came to pay their respects to the man who owned the Griffin-Gray Funeral Home from 1960 to 1990 and who served the city of Stewartville for 28 years, including 12 years as mayor and 16 years on the City Council...
