As the 2017-18 school year ended in June, the Stewartville School District's enrollment stood at 2,041 students in grades K-12. The numbers show that 2,095 students were enrolled when school started in August 2017, which means 54 students left the district during the 2017-18 school year. Belinda Selfors, superintendent, told the School Board at a recent meeting that most of the departures occurred because students' families had moved out of the district. School officials have confirmed that 2,071 students will be enrolled in the district at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year, an increase of 30 students from the 2,041 enrolled as the 2017-18 school year ended. Officials project that the district's enrollment could be as high as 2,090 when the 2018-19 school year begins, five fewer than the 2,095 enrolled at the start of the 2017-18 school year.
