Sun Communities (Sun ACQ, LLC), denied when it tried to add 300 lots to its local manufactured home park, is proceeding with its plan to sue the city of Stewartville. Melanie Leth, city attorney, and lawyers for Sun Communities updated the City Council on the lawsuit during a closed session at City Hall last week. "A potential first scheduled hearing date (on the lawsuit could be held) in December 2020," Bill Schimmel Jr., city administrator, said in an e-mail. The attorneys said the Court has recommended possibly mediating the disagreement, Schimmel said. The lawyers also said they'd be open to answering any questions from City Council members, he said...
