When Anita Fjelstad, who lives along Third Street Northwest, saw that the Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce had planned an "Ultimate Patriotic Yard Challenge" for its 2020 Summerfest celebration, she went to work to decorate her front porch in red, white and blue. Her meal setting, which she called "A Taste of Freedom," includes a table, chair, bowl and kettle in red and white, three American flags, and red and blue flowers. Fjelstad said she and her husband, Gib, enjoy Independence Day. "We're usually right in the middle of the Fourth, with everything at the park," she said. "We can see the fireworks from our back deck. This year, it will be a little quieter."
