Dick Uptagrafft has decided to seek another term on the Stewartville City Council.
Uptagrafft, who has served five Council terms, filed an affidavit for candidacy at Stewartville City Hall last week. In November 2018, Uptagrafft placed third among four candidates seeking two Council seats.
Incumbent councilpersons Brent Beyer and Jeremiah Oeltjen, first elected in November 2016, are both seeking a second four-year term.
Daniel J. Ware, who has run for a seat on the City Council every even-numbered year since 2000, has filed an affidavit of candidacy and will also challenge the incumbents for a Council seat.
Mayor Jimmie-John King, who has served as the city's mayor since January 2009, has filed to run for a fourth four-year term.
