City workers are making progress building a paved path from the Stewartville Dairy Queen to a nearby bicycle trail.
Bill Schimmel Jr., city administrator, said the city's goal is to finish the base trail before the snow flies later this year.
Eventually, the city will pave the path, Schimmel said.
"Our hopeful plan is that during one of our street projects, we would use that machinery to blacktop the path," he said.
City leaders have considered the project for a long time, Schimmel said. While a previous owner operated Dairy Queen, the city owned property on which DQ placed a mini golf course. But when new DQ owners Ryan and Ashley Mosch took over the business, they bought that property from the city...
