DeCook Excavating of Byron, now working on the building’s foundation, continues to make progress on the construction of the new Cabin Coffee store at the parking lot just north of First Alliance Credit Union. Kevin and Robin Splttstoesser, longtime Stewartville residents, have purchased the parking lot as the coffee shop’s future home. Cabin Coffee’s owners and managers hope to open the nearly 2,000 square-foot shop in April 2021.

A market feasibility study has determined Stewartville is a good place for a new Cabin Coffee franchise.
Tracy Lauritzen of Krakerjak, a marketing, sales, and analytics firm, shared the results of the study with the Economic Development Authority at a recent meeting, saying she compared Stewartville with Chatfield, St. Charles and Plainview, all of which have a successful Cabin Coffee store in their communities.
"In comparison, Stewartville is estimating higher market potential than these three," she said. "Additionally, Stewartville has a 5.1 percent projected population growth, unlike the other locations. As a result, it is with confidence that Cabin Coffee has the potential as a feasible business venture for Stewartville."
The City Council, at a recent meeting, unanimously approved a conditional use permit that will allow Cabin Coffee to build a drive-thru at 310 North Main Street...
