With gaggles of geese making a mess, city officials have taken action to protect a local golf course.
The City Council, at its regular meeting last week, unanimously agreed to allow limited hunting at the Riverview Greens Golf Course to stop the geese from damaging the course.
Mayor Jimmie-John King and councilpersons Craig Anderson, Brent Beyer, Jeremiah Oeltjen and Josh Arndt all agreed to allow a select group to hunt at Riverview Greens when its ponds are not frozen weekdays and/or Sundays through Dec. 29 from 7 a.m. to noon.
Dan and Kathy Himmer, owners of Riverview Greens, wrote a recent letter urging the Council to allow limited goose hunting within the city limits of the golf course...
