On a gentle and mild, partly sunny September morning, Josh and Stephanie Kruger welcomed guests to their 12th annual Labor Day Waffle Brunch. The Krugers, 623 Second St. Southwest, have hosted the event since 2011, when they first invited their neighbors to bring their own chairs or blankets and enjoy waffles with toppings, sausage, cinnamon bread, orange juice and more. "We started it when we first moved to town," Josh Kruger said. "It's an idea we got from some dear church people in Duluth.
