With new, cost-saving LED lights installed along Main Street, the future is still bright in Stewartville. Bill Schimmel Jr., city administrator, said last week that the lights were attached to their Main Street poles as of early October. "They're all up and running well," he said. Workers are scheduled to install more LED lighting on the poles along Hwy. 30 East. That work will start after crews place labels on the light poles on Main Street, Schimmel said. The labels indicate that the LED lights have been approved by a local electrician and the state electrical inspector, he said...
