The Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Summerfest celebration at Florence Park Tuesday through Saturday, July 2-6. Every year, thousands of spectators from across southeastern Minnesota and beyond line three- and four-deep along the streets of Stewartville to watch the Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Summerfest Parade. This year's procession, scheduled to start this Thursday, July 4 at 6:30 p.m., is expected to once again attract a huge audience. Traditionally, close to 100 units walk or roll past the throngs of people gathered near the curbs. Nick Johnson of Thrivent Financial, co-chairman of the 2019 parade, said this year's event will feature a couple of new units, including Jack Sparrow and the Pirates of the Caribbean, a ship-like float; along with an R-2 Builders Club Star Wars-themed unit...
