Accepting a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Stewartville City Council has unanimously turned down a request for a large manufactured home development.
The Council, at its regular meeting at the Civic Center last week, voted 5-0 to deny the amendments Sun Communities (Southern Hills and Northridge) had proposed for its general development plan for the Knolls of Northridge subdivision in northwest Stewartville. Sun Communities had hoped to add 300 lots to a manufactured home park there.
The Council also denied Sun Communities' preliminary plat, a conditional use permit the company needed to proceed with the project, and a request to change the zoning of a 38.82-acre section of land from R-1 to R-3...
