Electronic cigarettes are just as addictive as traditional ones, and vaping is bad for your health, Jason Owen told an audience of about 30 at the Stewartville High School Performing Arts Center last week.
Owen, the community oriented policing (COPS) deputy for the city of Stewartville, was a speaker at the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office's annual community awareness forum on Monday evening, Jan. 20.
The ingredients in e-cigarettes include nicotine, glycerol, propylene glycol, benzoic acid and flavorants, which are inserted into the end of an e-cigarette device, Owen said in a PowerPoint presentation.
"Nicotine is the primary agent in both regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes, and it is highly addictive," he said.
