With the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on virtually everyone's mind, Mayor Jimmie-John King has encouraged Stewartville's residents to remain strong through a difficult time.
With City Council members and city staff seated further apart than normal at last week's Council meeting, the mayor was in a grateful frame of mind.
"I'd like to thank our community for pulling together the last couple of weeks," he said. "I want us to put our party affiliations aside. Let's listen to the doctors and scientists. Let's do what needs to be done so we can bring our communities back up to full strength."
