Businesses and individuals in distress from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have a friend in the Stewartville Morning Lions Club.
Dave Hoot, club president, and Char Weichmann, treasurer, announced last week that the Morning Lions donated $2,000 worth of gift cards for distribution to 10 local churches and $3,500 to be given to Stewartville and area businesses in need.
The cards, purchased from local businesses, went to the eight churches in Stewartville, one church in Racine and one in Pleasant Grove, Hoot said. Church leaders are free to distribute the cards to people most in need, he said. Each church received $200 worth of gift cards...
