Fire destroyed an office building at Jon Nelson's property in High Forest on Friday, Oct. 9.
Capt. Steve Denny of the Stewartville Fire Department said firefighters got the call from a passerby at 9:19 that evening. Twenty-one firefighters responded in a fire engine, an aerial truck, two tankers and a rescue truck.
The building, which measured 120 feet by 80 feet and housed a number of business offices, was fully involved in fire when firefighters arrived, Denny said.
"We hit it with attack lines off the fire engine," he said. "As the fire got up to the second story, it spread through the whole building..."
