City officials are getting ready to update Stewartville's comprehensive plan. Bill Schimmel Jr., city administrator, said the City Council discussed plans for the update at a workshop at the DownUnder Bar meeting room on Friday, March 19. "Most cities do a comprehensive plan about every 10 years or so," Schimmel said. "It usually follows a census being done. We last updated ours in 2010." The city's comprehensive planning committee will include Schimmel, along with Cheryl Roeder, city clerk, one or two City Council representatives, members of the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Economic Development Authority (EDA), and a few residents from the community at large...
