Editor
Pending approval of a requested tax abatement, Taco Bell is coming to Stewartville.
If the project moves forward as planned, the 2,867 square-foot, quick-service restaurant will be built near the north Kwik Trip at 100 Schumann Drive Northwest, with construction expected to begin this July and conclude about three months later.
The City Council, at its regular meeting last week, unanimously authorized a proposed plan by which the city of Stewartville will rebate to Taco Bell 90 percent of the new city taxes generated by the development, up to as much as $70,000 over 10 years.
