Margaret Lex, center-right in the foreground, was among hundreds of Stewartville and area residents who browsed among the silent-auction items at a benefit for Lachland Lennis, a 3-year-old Stewartville boy and his family, at the Stewartville American Legion Post 164 on Saturday, March 19. Proceeds from the benefit will enable Lachland and his family to travel comfortably to Chicago, where they will visit with a team of ROHHAD specialists.
Steve and Trista Biffert browsed among the silent-auction items at the Stewartville American Legion Post 164 on Saturday, March 19. The Bifferts are two of the hundreds of local and area residents who attended a benefit for Lachland Lennis, a 3-year-old Stewartville boy who may have ROHHAD, an acronym for Rapid-Onset Obesity with Hypothalamic dysfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Dysregulation, a rare disorder affecting respiratory control and autonomic nervous system regulation, along with abnormalities in the endocrine system.
