Residents who raise chickens in Stewartville are violating a local ordinance, city leaders said last week. Mayor Jimmie-John King and City Clerk Cheryl Roeder both said there's no way to tell how many Stewartville residents are caring for chickens. "We just know there are chickens out there," King said. "We're not going out looking for them, but if we have neighbors call, we'll take action about the problem."
