For the second year, the Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Summerfest celebration at Bear Cave Park, with most events scheduled to be held on Saturday, July 2, Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4. Thousands of spectators from across southeastern Minnesota and beyond are expected to line up three- and four-deep along the streets of Stewartville to watch the local Chamber of Commerce's annual Independence Day Summerfest Parade. This year's procession, scheduled to start on Monday, July 4 at 6:30 p.m., should once again attract a large audience. Traditionally, close to 100 units walk or roll past the throngs of people gathered near the curbs, many of whom place chairs or blankets at specific spots along the route as early as a full day before...
