On a sunny and pleasant Saturday morning, July 2, Rodnie Stacy of Emmons, Minn. took part in the first annual Stewartville Area Chamber of Commerce Summerfest Disc Golf Tournament. Stacy enjoys disc golf so much he's played the sport almost daily the past year. "I like the openness and the peacefulness," he said. Playing with three friends, Stacy enjoyed his round, saying he had played Stewartville's Bear Cave Park disc golf course four or five times before. He finished with an even-par score of 66 on the 18-basket, par-66 course. "It's not super challenging, but it's challenging enough," he said. Stacy is one of 73 disc golfers who took part in the Summerfest tournament. Scott Boelman, a 2021 graduate of Stewartville High School who organized the event, 20 of the participants came from Minneapolis-St. Paul and one came from as far away as Chicago...
