Brenndan Walton, a senior at Stewartville High School, center, earned a state championship in extemporaneous reading at the Class A State Speech Tournament at Apple Valley High School on Saturday, April 21. Brenndan Walton is a state champion. Walton, a senior at Stewartville High School, placed first in Class A extemporaneous reading at the State Speech Tournament at Apple Valley High School on Saturday, April 21. He spoke to the Stewartville School Board last week, recalling how nervous he was as he and the second-place finisher, Brianna Kreft of West Central Area School, stood together, waiting to see who would win the top prize...
