Fareway shoppers who rounded up their grocery bill to the nearest dollar between Monday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 8 contributed a total of $967.75 to this year’s Food for Kidz, enough to assemble and package 6,451 meals. Food for Kidz will be held at the Stewartville Civic Center on Saturday, April 4 beginning at 10 a.m. Robert Hruska, grocery manager of Fareway, seated at left, presents the $967.75 check to Rita Oswald of the Stewartville Kiwanis Club, seated at right. Looking forward to assembling and packaging meals for the poor, the Stewartville Kiwanis Club needs some assistance. As of last week, club members had collected about $10,000 in actual cash or pledges to pay for the meals that will be packaged at this year's Food for Kidz event, scheduled to be held at the Stewartville Civic Center on Saturday, April 4 beginning at 10 a.m...
