"The Sandlot" project breaks ground
Supporters of The Sandlot, a new concession stand to be built near the Stewartville High School baseball and softball complex, gathered to break ground for the project on Monday, Aug. 23. From left are Matt Mohs of the Diamond Club and Bolton & Menk, project engineer, designer and surveyor; Dan Schroeder of School Management Services, the Stewartville School District’s business manager; Ron Smith, Diamond Club; Nick Leimer of Kraus-Anderson Construction Company, project construction manager; Aaron Schmitz and Sydney Rudquist of Scheels, Grand Slam Level Donor, Anchor Donor; Von Petersen, TSP, Inc., project architecture design; Roger Peterson, Randy Welter and Ron Moore of the Stewartville American Legion Post 164, Grand Slam Level Donor; and Lee Cummins, Jetter Clean, Home Run Level Donor. The Sandlot will include a concessions area, restrooms and storage space.

The people who made The Sandlot happen gathered to break ground for the project last week.
School district officials and leaders from businesses and organizations that donated to the project met where the new concession stand will be built near the Stewartville High School baseball and softball complex on Monday afternoon, Aug. 23.
Matt Mohs of the Diamond Club and Bolton & Menk, the project engineer, designer and surveyor, was happy to see the many individuals, businesses and organizations that supported the project...
