After his school had been named the recipient of a generous gift, Jeff Johnson expressed his gratitude in three words. "I was grateful, humbled and shocked," said Johnson, principal of Bear Cave Intermediate School (BCI). Johnson described his emotions immediately after he learned the Stewartville Elementary Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) had donated $100,000 BCI will use to purchase new playground equipment. "When I first met with SEPTA and they told me about it, I had to pick up my jaw off the floor," he said. "I'm always so humbled to partner with SEPTA. They do things that benefit everybody here at BCI." In recent months, SEPTA hasn't spent the money it has raised from its traditional fundraisers partly because the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had eliminated the field trips for which SEPTA paid, Johnson said...
