In a close vote, Stewartville school leaders have decided to stick with their plan to lift a mask mandate for local students and teachers beginning on Monday, Jan. 24. The School Board, at a lengthy regular meeting last week, voted 4-3 against a proposal to extend the requirement for teachers and K-12 students to wear masks beyond Jan. 24. Todd Emanuel, School Board member, made the motion to extend the mask mandate, telling his fellow Board members he believed Jan. 24 would be too soon to rescind the requirement...
