Grateful to have been named the Stewartville United Educators (SUE) pre-K through fifth grade Teacher of the Year for 2021-22, Courtney Fakler shed tears of joy last week. Fakler, an elementary social worker, said she's astounded to have earned an award previously presented to a number of her highly esteemed colleagues. Speaking to a large group of teachers and staff members at the Stewartville Public Schools Staff Recognition event on Tuesday, May 31, she thanked God for strengthening her through her difficult times...
