The Stewartville School District needs a new community education and preschool building because the Central Education Center (CEC) requires many costly repairs, Belinda Selfors told a small audience gathered at the CEC cafeteria last week. Selfors, superintendent of Stewartville Public Schools, hosted the second in a series of meetings on Tuesday evening, June 21 to inform the public about the district's plans to spend a total of $38.5 million to build a new community education and preschool building near Bear Cave Intermediate School, add a gymnastics gym and an activities gym at the new site, improve classrooms, place artificial turf on the varsity football/activities field, reconstruct the district's track, and update secure entrances at Stewartville High School-Middle School and Bonner Elementary School, among many other improvements...
