Audiences will enjoy following the lives of the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne, in Stewartville High School's upcoming presentation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. So says Kami Sim, the play's director, who calls the production a huge challenge for the 17 students in the cast and the tech students in the booth and backstage. "But the students are up for the challenge," Sim said. "We have spent a lot of rehearsal time working on understanding the text, accents and posture." In Sense and Sensibility, sensible Elinor is driven by logic and hypersensitive Marianne is driven by emotions, Sim said. When their lives are turned upside down by the death of their father, the family must navigate the perils of financial and social uncertainty, she said...
