Fifty-two members of the Stewartville High School Band pose for a photo at Busch Gardens, one of many highlights the students experienced during a six-day trip to Florida Feb. 13-18 that also included stops at the Tampa Zoo, Bury the Hatchet (for axe throwing), Top Golf, Clearwater Beach and Pier 60, the Florida Aquarium, and more. The students were on the move about 12 to 13 hours a day, said Jessica Honsey, SHS Band director.
Looking forward to a special trip in February, Stewartville High School Band director Jessica Honsey, her students and the students' parents considered several destinations. "It was all with the goal of going somewhere WARM," Honsey said in an email. "We considered Phoenix, San Diego and Tampa." Band parents shared their ideas and helped put together itinerary options for each location, Honsey said. Those parents, along with parent members of the Band Booster Club, decided on Tampa, the destination and itinerary they liked best...
