Prekindergarten through eighth-grade Stewartville youth wrestlers competed in their respective age and weight classes at the March 17 Tiger Open, a Northland Youth Wrestling Association (NYWA) District Qualifier in Stewartville. In all, there were 33 Tigers who advanced to the March 23-24 NYWA Region One Individual Tournament in Byron with the hopes of qualifying for the NYWA State Championships coming up on April 5-8 at the Mayo Civic Arena. Krosby Miller, a 60-pound Pre-K-Kindergarten wrestler along with Jackson Hewitt, a grade 3-4, 112-pounder and Tanner Elzen, a grade 5-6, 90-pounder, captured first place in their respective age/weight classes to showcase Stewie at the postseason tourney. Four of the 33 Tiger wrestlers claimed second-place medals, 12 Stewie matmen placed third and two Tigers stepped up to fourth place on the podium.
