The statebound Tiger 4x400m girls relay team members are, from left, Maia Peterson, Hailey Lewis, Laura Pedelty and Kailee Malone. These same team members also placed third in the 4x200m race and qualified for state by beating the state standard time.
Eight girls and 10 boys in five relays and both throwing events will represent the Stewartville track and field team at the MSHSL Class A Track and Field State Championships at Hamline University in St. Paul on June 8-9. "It was a great night for Stewartville track and field," said an elated Tiger boys coach Aaron Meyer. "To see the girls and boys send this many athletes to state is something pretty special." "It's incredible," agreed a proud Tiger girls coach Dawn Miller. "The girls are sending an SHS-best three relays and a thrower. To have eight girls (in the most events in school history) and 10 guys going to state in so many events is amazing."
